Bright Smiles Community Clinic & Dental is a nonprofit organization committed to eliminating oral health disparities and expanding access to compassionate, high-quality dental care for underserved communities across Minnesota. We serve children and adults regardless of insurance status or ability to pay, with a special focus on Medicaid-insured, uninsured, immigrant, refugee, and low-income populations.
Position Summary
The Advanced Dental Therapist (ADT) plays a critical role in advancing our mission by providing accessible, preventive, and restorative dental care to patients who otherwise face significant barriers to treatment. Working under a collaborative management agreement with a licensed dentist, the ADT helps expand care capacity, reduce wait times, and improve health outcomes for families and communities most in need.
Qualifications
Current and valid Minnesota Advanced Dental Therapist (ADT) licensure, in good standing
All state certification and licensing requirements met and maintained
Demonstrated competency in preventive, restorative, and limited surgical procedures
Commitment to health equity, cultural humility, and patient-centered care
Experience or interest in working with diverse, underserved, and publicly insured populations
Strong collaboration and communication skills within an integrated care team
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $55.00 – $70.00 per hour (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care focused on prevention, diagnosis, and routine restorative services under a collaborative management agreement with a licensed dentist
Perform comprehensive oral evaluations, radiographic assessments, and treatment planning
Deliver restorative and preventive care including:
Fillings
Sealants
Simple extractions
Periodontal therapy
Oral health education and disease prevention counseling
Manage an independent clinical column primarily focused on restorative (fillings) appointments, increasing access for patients with urgent and unmet needs
Conduct periodic oral evaluations under dentist supervision as required by Minnesota law
Serve patients across the lifespan, beginning at 6 months of age
Collaborate with dentists, hygienists, dental assistants, community health workers, and care coordinators to ensure efficient, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive care
Support organizational goals to expand access, reduce emergency department utilization, and improve long-term oral health outcomes in the community
