Medical Post Baccalaureate Internship positions: Are you an energetic, self-starter, seeking clinical experience (2000 hrs) to apply for medical school or Physician Assistant Program? We have an internship opportunity for you. Come work alongside, highly regarded Dermatology providers in our Southern Maryland practice. Gain knowledge in: - Guide patients to exam/procedure room. Assist patients as needed with walking, preparing for exam, etc. Collect patient information/history; taking vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines. - Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. Comply with all company policies and procedures. HIPAA/OSHA - Complete intake via one-on-one interview, explain surgical procedures, common skin conditions, ABCDE's of skin cancers and answer any questions within your scope. - Hands on assisting with the provider during visit and/or surgical procedure - Prepare paperwork for patient's current visit and ensure complete and accurate documentation within the patient's electronic medical record - Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization in an autoclave - Collect and accurately process specimens - Contribute to keeping the clinical area clean and orderly to ensure a safe work environment and maintain efficiency.
