Job Description
The Prescriber Outreach Specialist is responsible for initial and on-going communication with doctors and providers to pursue valid prescription orders and/or medical records for a patient order of supplies. In addition, NCMS this role is responsible for managing inbound documents efficiently and accurately. The Prescriber Outreach Specialist will work within the scope of responsibilities as dictated below with guidance and support from Customer Care leadership team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Communicate with doctor’s offices by phone, fax, email and/or mail correspondences to pursue prescription orders and/or required medical records to ship a patient’s order
- Provides excellent customer service while communicating with provider offices and teammates
- Maintains accurate and detailed records in company database
- Review inbound documents determine validity; process documents efficiently and accurately
- Promptly responds to incoming referrals, primarily via email.
- Initiates benefit verifications by creating new accounts and transcribing provided data.
- Reviews and calculates benefits and copays for accurate benefit quoting.
- Promptly updates internal and external reps with status updates.
- Reviews documentation for compliance.
- Develops and maintains professional relationships with all internal and external parties.
- Meets patient service quality standards.
- Manage assigned outlook inbox to correspond with appropriate teammates
- Is reliable, engaged, and provides feedback as to improve processes and policies
- Attends all department, team, and weekly company meetings as required

REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma or GED.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
- Typing accuracy of 35 wpm minimum
EXPECTED COMPETENCIES
- Clear diction and knowledge of the English language, both written and verbal
- Solid mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must successfully pass a background check.
