    Job Title: Advanced Paraplanner / Associate Financial Planner Location: Edina, MN Job Type: Full-Time Reports To: Lead Financial Advisor / CFP® Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000 Based on Experience

    Job Summary

    We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Advanced Paraplanner / Associate Financial Planner with 3–5 years of experience in financial planning to join our team in Edina, MN. This individual will play a key role in supporting lead advisors by preparing sophisticated financial plans, conducting in-depth analysis, and ensuring a seamless client experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to contribute to a growing wealth management practice while working toward becoming a Lead Financial Planner or CFP®.

    Key Responsibilities

    Prepare comprehensive financial plans, retirement projections, investment analyses, and insurance reviews.

    Conduct advanced data entry, analysis, and scenario modeling using financial planning software (e.g., eMoney).

    Lead the preparation of client meeting materials, executive summaries, and follow-up recommendations.

    Work directly with clients to gather, review, and organize complex financial documents (tax returns, estate documents, account statements, insurance policies).

    Draft and review client communications, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and professionalism.

    Assist with portfolio reviews and coordinate with custodians (e.g., Schwab, Fidelity, LPL) for account openings, transfers, and implementation of investment recommendations.

    Monitor client accounts, financial plans, and action items to ensure timely completion.

    Maintain and optimize CRM records (e.g., Redtail, Wealthbox) and workflows.

    Stay current on financial planning strategies, regulatory changes, and industry best practices.

    Mentor and guide entry-level paraplanners or assistants as needed.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.

    3–5 years of experience in a financial planning, wealth management, or investment advisory firm.

    CFP® certification completed, or actively pursuing with substantial progress made.

    Securities licenses preferred: SIE, Series 7, and Series 66

    Life, Accident, and Health Insurance license preferred.

    Advanced proficiency in financial planning software (eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, NaviPlan, or similar).

    Strong working knowledge of CRM systems and custodial platforms.

    Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.

    Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.

    Professional demeanor with a strong client-service mindset.

    Preferred But Not Required

    Prior experience creating advanced planning scenarios (estate planning, tax strategies, business succession, charitable giving).

    Experience supporting or leading client meetings.

    Familiarity with compliance requirements and documentation standards in a financial advisory firm.
