    Advanced Plastics has been operating in Sandy since 1985 and has steadily grown in size and operation. We are currently hiring for our production team. We are looking for reliable candidates who are ready to learn the process of plastic injection molding. Mechanical background and hydraulic experience are a must.

    Essential Functions

    Maintain, service, and repair injection molding machines

    Maintain, service, and repair of auxiliary equipment

    Maintain, service, and repair of plant facilities

    Assist in set-up of machinery and mold changes for production

    Operate forklift

    Clean and lubricate molds

    Store molds in designated areas

    Repair and maintain special tools and fixtures

    Maintain equipment maintenance logs and written records of repair parts

    Source parts and communicate with equipment manufacturers for technical assistance

    Additional Functions

    Implement technologies for increased efficiencies - experience with robotics and automation is a plus

    Attend safety committee meetings as required

    Perform safety committee duties as assigned

    Other duties assigned

    Qualifications

    Ability to operate forklift.

    Ability to read or to interpret documents, such as safety rules and job descriptions.

    Ability to read and interpret documents, such as machinery manuals and schematics.

    Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair electrical circuits in machinery.

    Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair hydraulic systems

    Ability to complete tasks safely, accurately, and on time.

    Ability to follow instructions and communicate with supervisor.

    Ability to communicate and work well with others.

    Ability to maintain mutual respect and purpose with co-workers.

    Ability to calculate figures accurately.

    Ability to creatively solve problems and tasks.

    Have working knowledge of machinery and components.

    Similar previous experience is required.

    Physical Requirements

    Frequently requires the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.

    Frequently requires verbally expressing or exchanging ideas or instructions accurately and clearly.

    Frequently requires reaching by extending the hands and arms in any direction.

    Requires clear vision at 20 inches or less, the ability to identify and distinguish color and to adjust focus.

    Often requires working with fingers, hands and arms.

    Often requires lifting, carrying, pulling, or pushing up to 50lbs or more.

    Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.

    Occasionally requires ascending/descending ladders, stairs, ramps and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.

    Occasionally requires crouching.

    Typical Environmental Conditions

    The worker is subject to indoor environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is also frequently subject to noise, and is required to wear ear protection when near machinery.

    Evaluations and Advancement

    Job evaluations will be scheduled after 90-day introductory period when employee is first hired. Yearly evaluations will be performed on the anniversary of employee’s hire date. Pay raises are not expected for each evaluation, but will be based on merit and performance of employee.
