    Join the Occupational Medical Clinic of Tacoma as an Advanced Practice Provider, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care in a supportive environment.     Schedule: Monday–Thursday (NO CALL)

    Reports To: Medical Director / Occupational Health Physician

    Position Summary

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Occupational Medicine team. The APP will provide comprehensive medical care focused on the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and management of work-related injuries and illnesses, as well as supporting employee health and workplace safety initiatives.

    This role is ideal for a provider who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is passionate about employee health, injury prevention, and return-to-work strategies.

    Key Responsibilities

    Evaluate and treat occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses

    Perform pre-employment, DOT, and fit-for-duty physical examinations

    Manage workers’ compensation cases, including documentation and coordination of care

    Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and laboratory studies

    Provide medical clearance and return-to-work assessments

    Deliver preventative health counseling and workplace wellness education

    Collaborate with employers, case managers, and rehabilitation specialists

    Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory standards

    Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the EMR system

    Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives

    Qualifications

    Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

    National board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)

    Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred (occupational medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care strongly preferred)

    DOT certification preferred or willingness to obtain

    Strong procedural skills (e.g., suturing, splinting, wound care) preferred

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Ability to work independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team

    Preferred Skills & Experience

    Experience with workers’ compensation systems and documentation

    Familiarity with OSHA and workplace safety regulations

    Experience performing physical capacity evaluations and functional assessments

    Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
