POSITION TITLE:                    PHARMACIST – OUTPATIENT PHARMACY

STATUS:                                   PART-TIME (R1 – 45 HOURS PAY/PERIOD)                                    

DAY/SHIFT/HOURS:               VARIES.

                                                      PHARMACY HOURS OF OPERATION ARE:

                                                      MONDAY-FRIDAY 7:00AM TO 6:00PM. 

                                                    SATURDAY 7:00 AM TO 3:00PM

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Outpatient Pharmacist reports to the Manager, Pharmacy Operations and is responsible for overseeing the dispensing of medications to patients. Responsibilities include: Utilizing technology and management of workflow within the Professional Pharmacy Department. Managing customer interactions in the pharmacy, including patient counseling, complaint resolution, quality assurance management, and adherence to practices which promote customer satisfaction. Assisting in or making recommendations concerning the selection, training, scheduling, development and performance of pharmacy department personnel. Assuring that the Pharmacy department procedures and practices are in compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines. Adhering to federal and state laws and regulations and Union Hospital policies regarding all drugs and products; maintains required records, documentation and reports. Ensuring proper processing of all third party prescriptions, and adheres to partial fill procedures, and utilizes generics whenever possible to maximize profitability. Attends meetings as required. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Graduate or equivalent.
2. Bachelors or Pharm. D from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
3. Licensed to practice Pharmacy in the State of Ohio
4. Previous Retail Pharmacy Experience.
5. Ability to assess, interpret, comprehend and evaluate varied data; teach/explain data, concepts and ideas to small

     groups of people; retain information on a short and long term basis; comprehend spoken and nonverbal

     communication; respond in a positive manner to changing circumstances and varied routines.

6. Excellent interpersonal skills/ability to work well with others projecting a positive image for the Hospital.
7. Excellent communication, organizational and detail skills.
8. Ability to work independently and prioritize work.
9. Ability to remain calm and function well in stressful situations.
