    JOB SCOPE: 

    Under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse, CNAs perform individually assigned care activities for the chronically ill and technologically dependent residents based on established resident care policies and procedures. CNAs provide general direct nursing care to assigned residents and participate in resident care as an active member of the healthcare delivery team with specific areas of responsibility including, monitoring of resident vital signs, providing resident hygiene and comfort measures, assisting with medical procedures and fulfilling nutritional and grooming needs. 

    • Assists physicians and/or licensed nurse with treatments and procedures as needed. 
    • Assist patient with or performs Activities of Daily Living (ADL).
    • Obtains and records vital signs and weights per policy. 
    • Accompanies patients when transported outside the center for appointments as requested. 
    • Ensures patients are ready for scheduled rehab therapy and transports patients to rehab area. 
    • Participates in the care planning process and implements care according to care plan. 
    • Notifies licensed nurse for escalated medical issues; reports changes in patient's condition, patient/family concerns to charge nurse and/or supervisor. 
    • Answers call light or bell promptly, delivers messages, cleans areas of spillage or accidents. 
    • Participates in the orientation of new nursing assistants.
    • Assist with patient discharge as requested. 
    • Cleans patient equipment as assigned. 
    • Participates in quality improvement activities as requested; contributes to an environment that is respectful, team-oriented, and responsive to the concerns of staff, patients and families. 
    • Maintains confidentiality and protects sensitive Protected Health Information (PHI) at all times. 
    • Performs other duties as requested by supervisor.

     

    EXPERIENCE: 

    • 6 months of prior experience preferred. We provide training for growth in your career. 
    • Knowledge of basic medical asepsis and standard precautions, procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and providing related bedside patient care services, as permitted by state regulation.
