    Position Summary :

    Reporting directly to the Data Services Manager, this role upholds best practices in data stewardship, advanced analytics, and insightful reporting. As a strategic partner to the VP of Advancement and other leadership, the Advancement Analyst leverages sophisticated data analytics to inform critical business decisions and propel the Foundation's mission on behalf of Fuller Theological Seminary. The Analyst contributes to the integrity of data infrastructure through maintenance and coordination of data entry and systems, while also providing crucial fund analysis to the Donor Services team, ensuring the appropriate application and stewardship of donor resources. This position is central to providing data-driven insights through in-depth analysis, answering critical strategic questions. The role also works closely with the Foundation’s leadership, IT service providers, and Fuller Seminary staff on data information system related activities. Fuller’s ITS team informs protocol and policies for the Foundation’s database to ensure compatibility and consistency across the institution's records.

    Major Responsibilities:

    Collaborates with Foundation leadership and proactively engages with frontline staff (i.e. Development Officers), to identify and fulfill reporting and data analysis requirements. This involves regular portfolio review sessions to enable data-informed strategic planning in fundraising, prospect development/management, donor stewardship, frontline performance metrics, and trend identification.

    Develop compelling dashboards, reports, and visual presentations that articulate key findings with clarity and precision. Skills in SQL and CRM reporting functionalities are essential.

    Partner closely with the Office of Finance and Accounting (OFA) and the Senior Financial Analyst to ensure meticulous budgeting, expenditure tracking, and transparent reporting of donor funds, adhering strictly to established guidelines and donor intent. This includes support in ensuring accurate coding and reconciliation of donor contributions.

    Assist with data management, entry and data append projects in the CRM leveraging integrated systems and external tools, with focus on data cleansing, acquisition and enrichment. This includes using CRM functionality for bulk imports and exports, maintaining data integrity and quality.

    Collaborate with Fuller’s ITS team and the Data Services Manager to define, document, and implement business requirements, processes, and data definitions for advancement and development efforts, ensuring data integrity and consistency across all systems. This includes establishing data governance policies and protocols for data entry and system coordination.

    Participate in upgrades and enhancements to data systems to ensure it supports all constituent data. Manage and update databases, as well as develop strategies to optimize data collection and analytical capabilities.

    Assist Data Services Manager in enhancing the CRM user experience such as configuring database workflow or automation processes, and other platforms.

    Requirements and Qualifications :

    This is a full-time, local position; schedule to be determined in consultation with the supervisor. Strong preference will be given to candidates in the greater Los Angeles area.

    Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, statistics, or equivalent experience desired.

    Minimum one year working experience with information technologies and data-oriented programming languages (SQL, R, Python, etc.) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Plotly, Power BI, etc.)

    Experience working in nonprofit organizations and/or higher education advancement or development is preferred. Knowledge and experience with nonprofit fundraising and executive reporting is a plus.

    Strong analytical skills and an ability to synthesize information across a broad ecosystem to diagnose problems and devise solutions

    Strong research and critical thinking skills in technology tools. As well as stay current with innovative technology industry trends.

    Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Able to collaborate and maintain relationships with partners on both business teams and technical teams

    Initiative-taking with strong attention to detail.

    Strong time management skills and the ability to meet firm deadlines.

    Commitment to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality of all donor/constituent information.

    Background check required.

    Anti-harassment training for employees and supervisors is mandatory upon hire.

    An organizational wide performance review process is required for all employees and a required task of all supervisors along with regular 1:1 meetings with their direct reports.
