    The sales consultant will be responsible for developing new customer relationships, as well as managing existing relationships.     Key Responsibilities of Sales Agronomist:

    • Drive the achievement of company sales goals 
    • Constantly evaluate customer needs and build productive long-lasting relationships
    • Consistently touch base with customers and provide ongoing education 
    • Interpret multiple types of soil, plant and water quality analysis, to identify specific nutritional needs and opportunities coming from the field 
    • Create agronomic recommendations and product application guidelines
    • Work to develop forecasting and sales planning for the region
    • Meet team and personal engagement and sales targets
    • Manage sales data collection and reporting using Salesforce
    • Be accountable and engage with Salesforce platform
    • Work with other department heads to build an exceptional customer experience
    • Develop a collaborative team culture with remotely located team members
    • Research accounts and follow through on sales leads
    • Attend meetings, sales events, and training to keep abreast of the latest development
    • Provide crop scouting and in field support as needed to maintain key accounts 
    • Manage personal time and energy very consciously and intentionally
    • Constantly solicit customer feedback and testimonials
    • Lead the resolution of customers complaints
    • Follow credit policies and help manage risk
    • Other roles and responsibilities will be defined as the position develops

     

     

    Key Requirements for Sales Agronomist:

    • Proven track record of building sales
    • Strong agronomic background, with experience in plant nutrition, soil science or other agriculture related science - technical understanding of plant nutrition is essential
    • Bachelor’s degree in Ag related discipline, or significant experience in Ag industry
    • Possess or willing to obtain CCA certification
    • Tech savvy: must have a high-level working knowledge of basic digital platforms
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Willingness to travel often with intense seasonal hours
    • Intimate knowledge of agriculture production practices, with a knowledge of fruit and vegetable crops a big plus
