Job Summary

The CNC Machinist/Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a range of 3 or 4 axis mills. The machinist is responsible for completing work that meets high quality standards. Responsible for checking tooling, machine setups, program coordinates, and other information to ensure a quality part is produced.

Essential Functions

• Retrieve job related information from job travelers, part drawings, tool list, work instructions or other resources.
• Complete manufacturing of first part inspection per process instructions
• Independently set up machines with the ability to run and verify parts.
• Calculate cutting speeds/feeds and adjust cutting tools to obtain maximum through put with minimum impact on tooling.
• Process metal and composite parts in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Quickly and accurately set up fixtures for job set up and perform job changes effectively.
• Use precision measuring tools and hold tolerances of .005 or better.
• Utilize ERP system effectively.
• Maintain quality standards through understanding of Quality Management System
• Monitor and document operational and performance issues and provide feedback to supervisor.
• Work within a team environment while demonstrating good interpersonal skills and strong work ethic.

Education, Experience and Other Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Preferred minimum of 4 years hands-on CNC Machining experience or 2 years trade school
• Ability to troubleshoot and identify problems with machines, tools or parts.
• Strong math and mechanical knowledge
• Reliable with strong work ethic
• Ability to be highly organized and keep a clean workspace.

Work Environment

This position is in a metal manufacturing shop that is clean and fast paced. Some exposure to noise. Exposure to various equipment is typical.

Schedule

Shift 2: 2:15PM – 10:45PM

Shift 3: 10:00PM – 6:30AM

Additional time may be required on an as needed basis.

Compensation

The rate of compensation for this position is based on experience level and will start at $18 - $26 hourly.
