** Job Summary
**
The Quality Assurance Inspector will support a production environment through inspection and reporting. The QA Inspector must have at least 3 years’ experience in quality support roles and be able to operate CMM equipment.
** Essential Functions
**
- Plan and perform inspection set-up, in-process inspection, receiving and final inspections.
- Use a variety of hand-held measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers, go/no go gauges, and other calibrated tools.
- Experience inspecting with a CMM is required. Familiarity with CMM Manger system with programming CMM equipment is valuable.
- Inspections include documentation of In-Process spot checks, Special Process verification, Final Inspection, First Article Inspection reports with ISO9001 and/or AS9100 format.
- Complete and maintain accurate inspection records per Quality System
- Interfaces directly with the manufacturing team to confirm requirements are being met.
- Communicates with manufacturing engineers and programmers to resolve any non-conformities found during inspection.
- Ensure proper inspection techniques and methods are used.
- Suggests changes for improvement in prints, layouts, and other relevant documents.
- Prior experience in a production sheet metal or machine shop inspecting complex parts is helpful.
- Familiar with sheet-metal, powder coat, or plating processes beneficial.
- Experienced using ERP systems for material certification and job process tracking.
** Required Education and Experience
**
- Highschool diploma or GED Required
- 3+ years of dimensional and visual inspection experience
- General understanding of sheet metal manufacturing.
- General understanding of machine work.
- Blueprint reading and GD&T understanding.
- Mechanical reasoning and rational problem solving
- Must be detail oriented to ensure quality standards are met.
- Understanding of ISO procedures and requirements
- Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite
** Work Environment
**
This position is in a manufacturing shop environment that is clean and fast paced. Sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time may be required. Some exposure to noise and various types of equipment is typical.
** Schedule
**
The required schedule for this position is: Shift 2 - 2:15 pm – 10:45 pm. Additional time may be required on an as needed basis.
** Compensation
**
Compensation for this position will start at $26 – $30 per hour depending on experience. Benefits are available after a waiting period and include shared cost health care, paid holidays, paid time off, and 401k with company match.
