    What are we looking for?

    We are seeking a forward-thinking advanced practitioner with experience in primary care who is interested in shaping the future of women’s healthcare. The role is perfect for an advanced practice provider who provides excellent patient care while demonstrating a passion for innovation and technology. The ideal candidate is a skilled Family or Primary Care Advanced Practitioner who is an autonomous clinician comfortable providing the full range of primary care services including routine women’s health, acute and chronic primary care disease management to a socioeconomically, culturally and medically diverse patient population in the Washington, DC community. The ideal candidate also feels comfortable working in a technology-enabled environment and a hospitality-focused culture.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Demonstrates a solid record of providing high-quality primary care, including diagnosing and providing treatment for patients with primary care oriented chronic illnesses, diseases and injuries

    • Comfortable caring for general cardiovascular, endocrine, gastrointestinal, urgent care, and preventive issues and referring as appropriate

    • Builds primary care model of care in a new innovative practice located in Washington DC, including marketing, workflows, processes, technology integration and training for staff

    • Obtains medical histories from patients, conducts yearly physical examinations, orders and performs diagnostic testing and interprets results

    • Prescribes medication, physical therapy and other treatments based on patient’s diagnosis or test results

    • Provides education to patients regarding health risks, preventive care, diet, exercise, and overall health maintenance

    • Performs minor surgeries or assists a physician with surgeries

    • Conducts follow-ups with patients to monitor and track their condition(s), including use of telemedicine

    • Comfortable ensuring an adequate patient flow in a busy, outpatient clinic with a mix of scheduled and same-day appointments

    • Recognizes signs of mental/emotional illness or substance abuse/addiction in patients, screens using mental health screening tools and takes steps to get patients to the appropriate doctor or program for evaluation and treatment; reports suspected cases of abuse or neglect to county or state authorities

    • Partners with other providers to ensure integration of primary care clinical services in other visit types and supports seeing patients on an acute and preventive basis

    • Implements innovative models of care over time to be successful with evolving payment models

    • Partners with the Liv team to drive high quality care and consumer experience that exceeds patients’ expectations and translates to high patient retention

    • Collaborates to define and track key quality and operational metrics that ensure quality performance in primary care

    • Maintain a spirit of continuous improvement and implement changes to the care model as needed

    • Exemplify leadership in day to day interactions with patients, colleagues, and staff

    • Thrive in a collaborative environment, working seamlessly with other providers and members of the care team

    • Demonstrates the willingness and ability to render culturally competent care to a socioeconomically, ethnically, and linguistically diverse patient population

    • Continues personal education on current medical practices and innovations by reading medical journals, attending conferences, etc.

    • Supports recruiting, managing, and mentoring of additional primary care staff, including other advanced practitioners

    • Proficient at patient charting in electronic medical records and overall comfort with technology

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 2 years practical experience working as an advanced practice provider in a hospital or private practice or 1-year practical experience with completion of 12-month residency program

    • Master of Science degree with completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required

    • Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner, preferably in Washington, DC

    • Board certified through the ANCC or ARC-PA preferred

    • Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care is required

    • DEA and CDS eligible
