Formed in 2007, Advantix Development Corporation serves as the not-for-profit development instrument of the Evansville Housing Authority. Its mission is to own, operate, acquire and develop housing for low to moderate income families. Since 2007, Advantix has served as developer, and general contractor for both 4% and 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credit development projects. Advantix works with local jurisdictions to develop several types of affordable housing in Indiana and surrounding areas. Currently, Advantix operates approximately 1000 units of affordable housing in Indiana. Providing quality affordable housing opportunities, improving the communities in which we work, and building strong local partnerships are the primary focuses of the Advantix Development Corporation.
We are currently seeking an experienced General Carpenter.
Under the general direction of the Facilities Director Assistant/Lead Carpenter, the General Carpenter performs a variety of tasks to improve and maintain the physical quality of the assigned property. Performs highly skilled work to diagnose construction/maintenance problems and make the necessary repairs.
Special Note: Persons hired in this classification may be required and assigned to multiple properties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Primary areas of responsibility and tasks that may typically be expected include but are not limited to: • Performs preventative maintenance and apartment turns. • Communicates with Facilities Director Assistant/Lead Carpenter regarding the status of work and issues that arise. • Ensures unit turn supplies are in stock and has supplies ordered as needed. • Ensures safe work practices and operation of tools at all times. • Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks. • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely efficient manner. • Pour and finish concrete. • Install and/or repair cabinets and drawers • Install and/or repair counters and vanities • Install and/or repair drywall which includes mudding, sanding, and stomping of ceilings • Install and/or repair doors and windows • Install and/or repair locks and hardware • Install and/or repair roofing and gutters • Paint interior and exterior surfaces • Performs other related duties as assigned and/or required by the Facilities Director/Senior Construction Project Manager.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR CERTIFICATION • High School Diploma or G. E. D. • Journeymen’s Qualifications in at least one of the major maintenance functions. • Four (4) years related construction experience. • Possession of valid Indiana Driver’s License.
