    • Description:

      The Assistant GIS Specialist will work closely within functional teams to deliver GIS data and GIS services to our clients, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, customer commitment, sense of urgency, and continuous improvement. He/she must be able to multi-task and demonstrate the ability to work with a diverse work group of stakeholders.

      Responsibilities:

      • Support Client needs as directed
      • Data mining detailed information from archive documents
      • Converting MicroStation to AutoCAD
      • Scanning printed drawings and maps for conversion into electronic formatting
      • Support project managers, design engineers, environmental consultants, GIS mapping specialists.
      • Assist in updating of new and existing GIS maps and map layers. using ArcGIS in support of the utility network
      • GIS metadata creation.
      • Perform data research from various sources
      • Perform georeferencing of raster and vector data.
    • Requirements:
      • Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field of study preferred but not required
      • Experience working in the ArcGIS desktop environment is preferred but not required (ArcGIS Desktop 10.0 or higher is a plus).
      • Experience working with MicroStation to AutoCAD preferred but not required
      • Basic GIS skills, including data analysis abilities.
      • Prior GPS and applicable natural science field experience a plus
      • Utilize various software packages and information from various sources (MS Access databases, MS Excel spreadsheets and documents such as deeds, field notes etc.)
      • Proficient in working with Google Earth, PDF viewer/editing programs, spreadsheets and other task tracking software preferred but not required
      • $23-$28/HR DOE
