CONTRACT TO HIRE | MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN II | KANSAS CITY, MO

Job Summary: The Manufacturing Tech II must have skills in cutting, grooving, hole cutting, assembly, inspection, cataloging, and knowledge of the shop floor platform (Mendix), as well as the ability to meet goals.

In this position, you will work closely with the lead to determine their labor pool needs and assist in training when necessary while enforcing all policies and procedures. Duties may vary according to business needs.

Shift: 2:00 PM -10:30 PM (Monday - Friday)

Specific duties and responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe work environment is maintained and report any safety related matters, incidents or near misses to the lead/management.
• Cover for leads in their absence.
• Carry out day-to-day operations in the shop floor (inspections, shipments, etc.).
• Ensure that quality standards are met.
• Follow the current project schedule and manage materials accordingly.
• Perform all fab cell operations proficiently.
• Complete daily checklists and TPMs accurately.
• Be certified on all equipment.
• Complete all 5S duties.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High School degree required.
• Previous Manufacturing Technician experience preferred
• Ability to lead teams.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic drawings and interpret technical manuals.
• Previous forklift experience preferred
• Experience with forklift-mounted computers and bar-code scanners (can be trained on the job)
• Capable of lifting up to 45 pounds.
• Able to operate generic computer systems at intermediate level. Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and word MUST be able to operate).
