Contract to Hire | Manufacturing Lead Technician| Stafford, TX
Job Summary: will be responsible for all activities pertaining to the shop floor (Attendance/communication of projects, etc.) as well as daily, weekly, monthly performance metrics and scheduling. Working closely with Production coordinators and the other Line leads with determining their schedules and needs for their assigned areas. (Will spend 80% of its time at the production floor and 20% at the office. Duties may vary due to business needs.)
Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Monday – Friday)
Duties and responsibilities:
- Promote BBS program and ensure weekly observations are completed and corrective actions are implemented.
- Proficiently perform all operations in the fab cell, including troubleshooting and basic machine maintenance
- Understand production load to provide clear direction to team members.
- Provide production support as needed, otherwise focus on team members’ production flow.
- Perform spot checks for quality control and schedule monthly 1-1 meetings with team members.
- Conduct daily walkthroughs to check supply levels, 5S practices, and equipment inspections.
- Communicate effectively with VDC, CC, and Scheduling Coordination
- Support inspection process for fab and manufacturing
- Ensure training is delivered and identify additional training opportunities based on performance and new needs.
- Manage project material from issuance to completion, including shortages and leftover material.
- Enforce attendance and counseling policies consistently.
- Understand daily operation goals and resolve any errors or issues that arise during production.
- Manage devices/equipment/sub-equipment in Mendix system.
- Communicate any discrepancies found during production with VDC for resolution.
- Collaborate with Production Coordinator on daily updates and project close out.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School degree required.
- Minimum 3 years of technical experience.
- Leadership abilities.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical manuals.
- Experience in planning/buying activities.
- Basic inventory management skills.
- Familiarity with forklift-mounted computers and bar-code scanners (training provided).
- Must be able to lift 45 pounds.
- Comfortable using computer systems, including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word).
