    JOB SUMMARY: As a result of our continued success, Aeris’ Connected Car footprint and roadmap is expanding and we are seeking a Sr. Test Engineer for Quality Development to our telematics team. This new position will play an important role in our automotive R&D team and will focus on conducting test design, test tool development and engineering process/testcase automation on our automotive Telematics service and products.

    ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collaborate with development and product management teams to understand the system, then design, develop and automate tests for our IoT platform for smart cars.
    • Develop Test Strategy, Specification, test flow and test cases based on features and IoT safety requirements. Assure negative test cases, system, scale and load tests in addition to feature function tests are designed and executed.
    • Participate in Agile Cross Functional team activities and assure a close loop traceability from requirements to test results.
    • Automate connected car test cases; define pre-condition, post-condition with CANoe test tool to simulate a real connected car user cases.
    • Analyze and debug component server logs, TCU log, and connectivity to confirm system stability and performance, then select or develop tools to automate and monitor the test activities.
    • Report deficits through troubleshooting, identify a potential root cause and clearly record the reproduction steps to shorten a bug fix turnaround time.
    • Led the external communication with Aeris’ connected car OEM customers and conducted test result reports or escalation resolution.
    • Drive continuous improvement through failure, effect analysis and add automated critical tests in regression test library.
    • Conduct works with a high level of self-accountability, skills of innovated problem solving and a passion of automating every critical test and engineering flow
    • Work with both internally with Noida, India and San Jose, US teams

    THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

    • BS degree in Electric Engineering, Engineering Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent discipline
    • A minimum of 5+ years of quality assurance, testing experience
    • A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in controller area network (CAN) messages for connected cars, CANoE capl scripting for telematics control unit test automation.
    • Proficiency with Agile development environment and tools, e.g. confluence, Jira and Jenkins, etc.
    • Knowledge and hands on experience with connected car IoT testing and automation; able to triage ECU issues in connected cars.
    • Experience of working with test driven development
    • Experience working with large-scale production system
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
