    Job Description

    Summary The program manager is responsible for the development of customer products and/or projects from early customer engagement through production. The program manager is also responsible for company projects and functions as assigned. Essential Functions • Customer account oversight including customer communications and project coordination. • Lead customer and company programs / projects and facilitate the communication and interaction among the functional representatives. • Track programs from early development through production / implementation against schedule and budget, reporting status to supervisor on a regular basis and executive staff on an as needed basis. • Develop and implement recovery plans for off-schedule and unanticipated eventualities. • Ensure that the right product is developed to meet or exceed company's quality standard and is delivered at the right time. • Sourcing of products, components, and materials including identifying sources, purchasing, and supply chain oversight. Education and/or Experience • Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering preferred. • Proven experience in product and project management. • Proven technical knowledge of precision machining, supporting secondary processes, and technical mechanical assembly. • Experience working within an ISO certified, or similar, quality management system. • Proven experience participating in, and leading, process improvement initiatives. • Background in / understanding of strategic planning, sales and marketing, financial, and the general business side of manufacturing operations. Competencies • Able to read and interpret precision machined component and assembly prints, including GD&T callouts. • Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Office software and ERP systems. • Strong organization, verbal and written communication, and management skills. • Capable of developing and accomplishing short and long-term objectives in an organized and detail oriented manner. • Possess the necessary skills to establish priorities and provide prompt response to internal and external parties. • Ability to independently perform all duties of the position efficiently and effectively. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Physical Demands Depending on the assignment, may require ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; or the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 - 50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Work Environment Work is performed indoors with some potential for exposure to safety and health hazards related to manufacturing work. May periodically travel to other business units.
