Job Description
The Aerospace Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all products and processes meet quality standards required by AS9100, NADCAP, and customer specifications. This individual will lead root cause analysis, implement continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma methodologies, and support internal and external audit activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with AS9100 , NADCAP , and customer-specific requirements in manufacturing and quality processes.
Lead and conduct root cause investigations and develop corrective/preventive action (CAPA) plans.
Support and lead internal, customer, and regulatory audits ; manage audit findings to closure.
Utilize Six Sigma tools (DMAIC, FMEA, SPC, Pareto, 5 Why, etc.) to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Create and maintain quality documentation including control plans, inspection instructions, and first article inspection reports (FAIRs per AS9102).
Analyze manufacturing data, identify trends, and recommend process changes for improved product quality and yield.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure quality requirements are understood and met.
Lead supplier quality initiatives including evaluation, development, and audits.
Support calibration, non-conformance management, and MRB processes.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, etc.)
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in aerospace quality engineering or manufacturing quality.
Working knowledge of AS9100 and NADCAP (Heat Treat, Chemical Processing, Welding, etc.)
Six Sigma Green Belt certification or higher (Black Belt preferred).
Proficiency in quality tools: SPC, MSA, FMEA, 8D, PPAP, etc.
Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action systems.
Strong understanding of technical drawings, GD&T, and inspection methods.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
US citizenship or legal work status (ITAR compliance may apply).
Preferred:
Experience with ERP/MES systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Epicor).
Knowledge of ISO 9001, ITAR, or other aerospace/defense standards.
Experience in a NADCAP-accredited facility.
