  • Responsibilities

    Description:

    • Review First Report of Injury forms and medical records to determine proper actions under Workers’ Compensation laws and regulations; obtain background information as part of the claim investigation; review and pay related medical bills and expenses.
    • Establish and maintain monetary case reserves to cover medical costs and projected miscellaneous and compensation costs.
    • Use appropriate cost containment techniques, including strategic vendor partnerships to reduce the overall cost of claims.
    • Manage claim recoveries of all types, including but not limited to, subrogation and social security offsets.
    • Prepare necessary state filings within statutory limits.
    • Communicate verbally and in writing with injured employees, their employers, physicians, and other interested parties.
    • Review established claims periodically
    • Analyze complex data including medical reports

    Top Skills Details:

    Bachelor's Degree preferred

    2-5 years Workers' Comp experience preferably within an Insurance company

    Ability to interpret, explain, and apply Workers’ Compensation laws and administrative rules and regulations

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:

    Ability to read and problem solve

    Microsoft Office and computer usage experience

    Must work well with others
