AEYON POSITION TITLE: Data Scientist Mid-Level

LOCATION: Pentagon

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Data Scientist works with business leaders in the Department of Defense to solve business problems by preparing and analyzing data to predict emerging trends and identify opportunities to optimize business results. The successful candidate will have experience leveraging data science/data processing methodologies, tools, and techniques to develop persistent monitoring applications.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and build reports, charts, and dashboards, for deployment in the organization's analytic layer

• Work with stakeholders throughout the Department to identify opportunities to leverage data for strategic insight into mission performance and business operations

• Mine and analyze data from disparate databases

• Coordinate with functional teams across the Department to implement models and monitor outcomes

• Communicate with senior leaders to articulate the progress of ongoing analytic initiatives and shape and elaborate on approaches to improve the analytic capability

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Active SECRET Clearance

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• 2+ years of relevant consulting or professional experience with the DoD/Federal Government

• Experience creating and using dashboards and statistics.

• Experience using statistical computer languages (Python, R, SQL) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets

• Excellent oral and written communications skills

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Proficient with BI/Analytic tools including Qlik Sense, Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, and Alteryx
