Your day-to-day work will include:
The Internals Controls Specialist - Middle position will provide Information and Technology Analysis Services to RFF KCI team. Services include providing a reasonable assurance that IT system process weaknesses can be prevented or detected early enough to mitigate and prevent an adverse impact on the organization.
Duties and expectations include, but are not limited to the following:
• Provide Internal Controls expertise to assist in the assessment and/or establishment of an effective internal control environment in accordance with the GAO Green Book and OMB A-123.
• Develop internal control processes and tools to provide reasonable assurance of adequate internal control effectively and efficiently.
• Support activities related to assessing and evaluating internal controls.
• Provide consultation regarding the appropriate controls to test, along with test plan development and design of sampling techniques that allow for meaningful analysis.
• Gather and review relevant data and information from subordinate organizations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Document key internal control processes to performing testing and analysis.
• Compare information collected with existing controls and analyze the data to identify deficiencies.
• Support the remediation of deficiencies identified during risk assessments and internal control assessments.
Experience Requirements:
• 4 years of experience (including internships) providing Internal Control related services.
• Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures and other Department of Defense Instructions and Manuals applicable to the program in order to develop, review, and update new and existing business process controls.
• Experience in preparing and conducting internal controls testing for operational effectiveness.
• Experience preparing internal control assessments, developing and executing test plans, documenting results, and briefing the test results to various departments to ensure continuity of risk management tasks.

Certification Requirements:
Waivable/Substitutable: CPA, CISA, CDFM, CGFM, CFE, CIA Preferred/ DoD FM preferred not required.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree: 4 years of additional work can be substituted for a Bachelor's degree.

Work hours:
Here at Aeyon we believe in creating an environment that fosters a healthy work/ life balance. The typical day consists of a 9-5 Monday-Friday work schedule totaling 40 hours per week, but we do realize that life happens, and things come up. Many of our positions allow some flexibility in the work schedule for unforeseen events so that our employees can maintain a 40-hour work week and still have the opportunity to meet other obligations during the workday.
