    LOCATION:  MTS CORPORATE HUNTSVILLE, AL

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Human Resources and Business Support Specialist will provide comprehensive support in the Human Resources Department and other business areas as needed.

    Primary responsibilities will include:

    • Assist with new employees to include: verifications, orientations, etc.
    • Assist with governmental reporting, employee training programs, benefit administration, safety, and development and implementation of new HR programs and policies.
    • Consolidate employee recognition and other data for monthly newsletter.
    • Provide support to other business areas in the office. Maintain positive working relations with employees, visitors, and vendors.
    • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and diplomacy.
    • Manage complex employee travel by scheduling travel arrangements for employees, auditing expense reports company-wide according to FAR guidelines, maintaining travel funding and acquiring appropriate travel authorizations for employees.
    • Professionally administer incoming calls and ensure phone calls are redirected accordingly, greet visitors in a professional, friendly, hospitable manner and maintain visitor log.
    • Schedule and coordinate customer and corporate meetings while maintaining close accuracy of company calendars and conference room scheduling.
    • Create and update briefings, training materials and marketing presentations.
    • Responsible for managing company proposals to include proofreading, spelling, grammar and shipping.
    • Order office supplies and maintain working relationships with all vendors.
    • Coordinates the pick-up and delivery of express mail services (FedEx, UPS, etc.)
    • Organize company events such as awards dinners, company picnics and volunteer activities.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Work Environment - Generally an office environment but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
    • Physical Requirements - Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. May require lifting and carrying up to 10lbs (5% of the time).
    • Equipment and Machines - Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
    • Attendance - Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.
    • Other Essential Functions - Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee and others.

    CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: N/A

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree required, preferably in HR or related field.

    • Prefer 1-2 years of experience in a responsible HR role in a government contracting environment.
    • Knowledge of effective HR practices, including employment law.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and applicant tracking systems.
    • Skill in providing thorough, efficient, and effective customer service to individuals at all levels within the organization.
    • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and analytic aptitude.
    • Ability to produce grammatically correct and attractively arranged material; heavy grammar, punctuation and spelling skills.
    • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work for efficiency.
    • Independent judgment and problem-solving ability is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload.
    • Must demonstrate initiative, teamwork, and ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain strict confidentiality.
    • SHRM Certification a plus.
    • Some travel may be required
