    Affinity is a fully vertically integrated Massachusetts Medical Marijuana company that recently started up cultivation and expects to open retail soon. We are looking for an Assistant Dispensary Manager to help organize, work in, and assistant-manage our West Springfield (MA) dispensary.

    The ideal candidate will bring knowledge and experience to help guide all operational aspects of the dispensary, with the confidence and comfort to work in a new, complex, regulated, and constantly evolving industry.     Overview:

    We are hiring for the position of Assistant Manager (AM). As an AM, you will support the Store Manager in ensuring that all daily operating procedures are performed as required while promoting a company image of excellence through a strong work ethic, leadership by example, and the consistent delivery of impeccable customer service and store visual presentation. You’ll also maximize sales through the development and supervision of sales staff.

    The Assistant Manager is also responsible for ensuring sales transactions are carried out in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Successful applicants will possess equivalent work experience in a retail environment. Cannabis industry experience is preferred but not required.

    Responsibilities:

    Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Assist in the daily management and operations of the dispensary
    • Oversee sales personnel and ensure all operational rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and are rigorously followed
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment inside and outside the facility
    • Greet patients in person or on the phone; oversee patient intake and renewal procedures
    • Handle refunds, customer complaints / dissatisfied patients to ensure their issues are resolved to both the member's and Company's satisfaction. Defer to Dispensary Manager when needed
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of all strains and products to assist patients in selecting products; advise and educate about safe consumption and other aspects
    • Maintain a thorough understanding of Massachusetts state laws and regulations governing cannabis
    • Ensure the safety and satisfaction of all patients and employees
    • Evaluate dispensary processes with colleagues to ensure maximum efficiency
    • Assist Dispensary Manager with overseeing inventory and cash management, daily and weekly, including regular bank deposits and maintaining appropriate change in cash drawer
    • Assist with employee performance reviews
    • Assist in hiring and training new employees
    • Other duties may be assigned according to Company needs

    Qualifications:

    • Must be 21 years old
    • Must pass any and all background checks
    • At least two years of retail management experience
    • Superior customer service skills
    • Ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and in a positive and informative manner; ability to effectively engage with a diverse population of patients, colleagues, vendors, regulators, community members, and other stakeholders
    • Computer & equipment operations necessary for running an office / retail center (POS systems; Word; Excel; office equipment such as copiers / telephone systems)
    • Math skills necessary for basic inventory and cash management
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Thrives when performing job duties in a fast-paced environment; stays even-keeled during stressful times
    • Ability to effectively plan and prioritize
    • Extended time standing, walking, bending, and reaching
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds over a distance of 100 feet
    • Reliable transportation
