JOB DUTIES:
Person will be responsible for welding various metals shapes and sizes of material according to company specifications.
A person must possess the ability to read blueprints, sketches or specifications.
Person must have the ability to run power equipment such as grinders, drills, ect.
De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture
Must maintain equipment and machinery.
Duties include but are not limited to performing welding procedures such as Mig welding, stick welding, ability to weld in all positions. Meet established production and quality standards conform to all company attendance, safety, and personnel policies.
Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning with chemical solutions and wire brushes to remove impurities such as scale, rust, grease, and moisture.
Operate manual and semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions.
Repair structures by dismantling, reshaping, and reassembling metal components using cutting torches and hand tools.
Monitors the fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts of warping shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials.
Be able to operate overhead cranes in a safe manner.
Be able to calculate dimensions to be welded.
Ability to inspect structures or materials to be welded.
Smooth and polish all surfaces
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The ability to read blueprints.
Have good math skills, add subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers/fractions.
Use tape measures, rulers, protractors, and combination squares.
Have knowledge of overhead crane use and operation.
Perform heavy lifting (75 lbs) frequent stooping or bending
Be able to work 1st or 2nd shift.
Ability to comply with all work-related deadlines and be available for overtime if needed.
Work in team environment.
Have good housekeeping habits and strict adherence to safety
Adhere to health/safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a risk-free work environment.
Being self- motivated to follow through assigned tasks without a great amount of supervision.
Follow directions from supervisor or team leader
Take personal ownership and pride in the quality of work.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; able to handle shifting priorities and deadlines; able to prioritize.
Willing to assist in other areas as needed.
