  • Responsibilities

    OBTAIN TRAINING AND ASSISTANCE FROM THE CBS ENGINEERING TEAM MEMBERS AS NEEDED RELATING TO THE POSITION AND JOB DUTIES.

    • PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION COST ESTIMATES TO EXTEND THE EXISTING NETWORK TO BUSINESS CUSTOMERS FOR TELEPHONE, DATA, AND VIDEO SERVICE AS REQUESTED.

    • DETERMINE FACILITY LOCATION (MAIN POINT OF PRESENCE/DEMARCATION).

    • ACQUIRE KNOWLEDGE TO PRODUCE FIELD SURVEY PACKAGES CONSISTING OF DETAILED AUTO CAD DRAWINGS, DIGITAL PICTURES SHOWING OSP/ISP CONSTRUCTION TIE TO CUSTOMER PREMISE.

    • OBTAIN EDUCATION ON NEGOTIATING EASEMENTS AND SUITABLE FOOTPRINT FOR DETERMINED CABLING, ACTIVES/PASSIVES, DATA AND TELEPHONE DEMARCATION EQUIPMENT.

    • OBTAINING TRAINING TO NEGOTIATE AND DESIGN PATHWAYS FOR BUILDING ENTRANCES AS NEEDED.

    • UNDERSTAND THE MARKET INITIATIVES FOR PRODUCT DEMONSTRATIONS BY ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTING TEMPORARY AND PERMANENT PLANT SOLUTIONS.

    • BECOME FAMILIAR WITH CONDUCTING THE INSPECTION OF WORK PERFORMED BY ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTORS TO ENSURE QUALITY STANDARDS ARE MET.

    • BECOME FAMILIAR WITH TRACKING BUDGETS AND MAINTAIN TIME SCHEDULES FOR SUCCESSFUL DEPLOYMENT OF TELEPHONY AND DATA SERVICES OVER THE NETWORK TO SATISFY CUSTOMER EXPECTATIONS.

    • BECOME FAMILIAR WITH HIRING CONTRACTORS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF ISP AND/OR DEMARCATION EXTENSIONS.

    • BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE REVIEW PROCESS AND CONTENT OF THE ENGINEERING, CONSTRUCTION, CONTRACTOR AND TMC PACKETS-DESIGN, PA, AND PERMITS TO ENSURE QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP.

    • BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE PROCESS OF CREATING COMMERCIAL PROJECTS AND TASKS IN CORNERSTONE.

    • BECOME FAMILIAR WITH WRITING PROJECT WORK ORDERS AND PRINT COPIES.

    • ANY AND ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION: HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT

    EXPERIENCE: MINIMUM 1 YEAR CATV OR RELATED ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE ON HFC INSIDE AND OUTSIDE PLANT. MAINTAIN A VALID ARIZONA DRIVER LICENSE.

    OTHER: DEMONSTRATED ANALYTICAL SKILLS, CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS, SELF-MOTIVATION, AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL.

    • SUSTAIN AN ASSERTIVE YET PROFESSIONAL DEMEANOR ALLOWING THE ABILITY TO PARTNER WITH DEVELOPERS, GENERAL CONTRACTOR, BUILDING OWNERS, PROPERTY MANAGERS AND MUNICIPAL/UTILITY PERSONNEL TO ENSURE PROPER ENGINEERING STANDARDS

    • THE ABILITY TO READ AND INTERPRET CIVIL ENGINEERING PLANS, PROFILE PLANS AND ARCHITECTURAL PLANS.

    • DEMONSTRATE STRONG PROJECT MANAGEMENT, ORGANIZATIONAL AND DETAIL ORIENTED SKILLS.

    • ABILITY TO DESIGN AND DRAFT.

    • STRONG KNOWLEDGE AND USAGE OF MICROSOFT OFFICE SUITE AND GIS MAPPING SYSTEM 

    • SOLID KNOWLEDGE OF CONSTRUCTION OF HFC PLANT.

    • SOLID COMMUNICATION SKILLS (ORAL AND WRITTEN).

    • SELF MOTIVATION
