This position will provide support to the 46 Test Squadron Datalinks Test Flight (46 TS/TGBC) at Eglin AFB FL. In this role the Test Engineer will:
- Perform as a member of the Air Force’s premiere tactical data link developmental test team
- Serve as the primary face to the customer and TGBC focal point for all Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) planning, execution and reporting activities for which TGBC is chartered to support
- Plan and conduct initial and regression developmental testing on various platforms integrating equipment and applications processing Link 16, SADL, VMF, Harris SA, CoT, MADL and IFDL data
- Author, review and edit program documentation, including test plans, concepts of operations, test cards, data-analysis plans and formal reports
- Coordinate test resources with Major Range and Test Facility Base (MRTFB) program managers for use of and support to ABMS demonstrations, exercises and/or testing
- Apply engineering principles to all aspects of support to systems undergoing testing and the analysis of data collected during ABMS or Tactical Data Link (TDL) events
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive library and/or continuity database used to capture all lessons learned, planning, execution and reporting documentation relative to TGBC’s ABMS involvement
- Conduct technical research, testing and reporting of emerging technological systems affecting the performance of all data link test programs
- Travel to various sites to participate in planning, execution, data analysis, report generation, etc., of ABMS- and/or Tactical Datalink-related activities

Required Experience
ONE OF THE FOLLOWING COMBINATIONS IS REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 3 years of technical experience is required -OR- Associate’s degree in a technical discipline and 7 years of technical experience -OR- HS Diploma or Equivalent and 9 years technical experience.
- Relevant experience with Department of Defense Command and Control (C2) planning and operations at the tactical and operational levels
- Relevant engineering and/or technical experience in areas related to tactical data links, data link radios, radio frequency waves and propagation, and computer networking concepts
- Superior organization, communication and decision-making skills
- Active SECRET clearance is required (investigation within the last five years)
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of Office applications
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant operational experience performing battle management roles/functions in military ground or airborne C2 platforms; may include Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) experience in Air Operation Centers or other national-level ISR agencies
- JICO certification
- An understanding of developmental test and evaluation processes; for example, acquisition program development and detailed knowledge of Air Force C2 test methodologies including AFI 99-103 (or similar service-level guidance)
- Possess a current and active Top Secret security clearance
- Possess previous experience relative to recently executed ABMS activities
- Strong background in TDL communications is highly desired
