Wilson & Company is seeking a senior transportation planner/traffic engineer to join our growing Phoenix area Transportation Planning and Engineering Practice. This individual will work closely with our transportation planning and engineering staff in conducting and managing transportation corridor studies, scoping/feasibility studies, multimodal planning and design efforts, traffic operations analyses, safety analyses, transportation master plans, travel demand modeling, microsimulation modeling, and traffic impact studies. 

Required Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including public presentation development and delivery is required.
• Strong analytic and computer skills, including GIS and statistics.

Required Experience

• Professional Engineer (PE) license and/or AICP certification. BA or BS in planning, engineering, or related field of study.
• 5 to 15 years of experience working on transportation planning and/or traffic engineering projects.
• Experience using traffic modeling packages including Synchro/SimTraffic, Vissim, TransCAD, and TransModeler.
• Demonstrated understanding and experience applying fundamental transportation planning/engineering concepts (e.g. trip generation and distribution, capacity analyses, safety analyses, multimodal level of service, turn-lane and signal warrants, signal timing,nparking analyses) along with a demonstrated familiarity with core transportation engineering manuals (Highway Capacity Manual, Trip Generation, Parking Generation, AASHTO Green Book, etc.).
• Experience successfully supervising and mentoring professional staff.
