    Position: Assistant Teacher

    Location: Pelham, NY

    Program: After-School Program

    Schedule: Mon – Fri, 3:00pm - 6:00pm/10-month school year (additional hours may be available)

    Compensation: Hourly rate: $25/hour

    Start Date: Mid/Late August

    Are you passionate about working with children and supporting their development? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our team at our after-school program in Pelham, NY. Make a positive impact on the lives of children and families.

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to support our after-school program in providing a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for children in grades [K–5]. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Site Supervisor and program staff to help plan, supervise, and deliver educational and recreational activities that support student growth and development.

    Key Responsibilities:

    · Assist in implementing daily activities, including creative arts, outdoor exploration, sports, social-emotional learning, and homework help.

    · Support classroom management and ensure the safety and well-being of all children.

    · Help prepare materials and set up spaces for activities

    · Supervise children during structured and unstructured times

    · Provide positive behavior reinforcement and model respectful, inclusive behavior

    · Communicate effectively with students, parents, and program staff

    · Follow all health and safety protocols, including emergency procedures and OCFS requirements

    · Attend staff meetings and trainings as required

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred

    Experience working with children in a school, camp, or childcare setting

    Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills

    CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

    Must meet New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) requirements for background checks and clearances
