    About the Role

    Ben Bellucci Academy is looking for an enthusiastic, high-energy After-School Cheerdance Instructor to lead our youth programs in Baltimore County. We are seeking an instructor who can merge the spirit of cheerleading with the rhythm of dance to help students (Grades K-5) build confidence, coordination, and teamwork.

    This role is a perfect fit for former cheerleaders, dancers, or poms squad members living in Owings Mills, Lansdowne, or Catonsville who want to inspire the next generation of performers.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Routine Instruction: Teach age-appropriate cheerdance routines, incorporating sharp cheer motions, basic dance steps, and synchronized movement.
    • Skill Building: Instruct students on foundational cheer techniques, including jumps, vocal projection (chants), and simple formations.
    • Performance Prep: Help students memorize short routines for "showcase days" where they can perform for their peers and families.
    • Safety amp; Form: Ensure all movements are performed safely, focusing on proper stretching and beginner-level movement.
    • Positive Environment: Create a high-spirit, supportive atmosphere where every student feels comfortable expressing themselves.
    • Logistics amp; Safety: Manage student check-in/out and ensure the practice space (gym or cafeteria) is respected and organized.

    Qualifications

    • Experience working with elementary-aged children (coaching, teaching, or camp leadership).
    • Background in Cheerleading, Dance, or Poms is required.
    • High energy, reliability, and the ability to command a group of 15–20 children.
    • Reliable transportation to travel to school sites in Owings Mills and Lansdowne.
    • Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive fingerprinting and background check meeting Baltimore County Public Schools (BCPS) vendor standards.
    • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.

    Schedule amp; Pay

    • Hours: After-school hours, typically ranging from 1–1.5 hours per session.
    • Commitment: 1–3 days per week (flexible based on your availability).
    • Pay Rate: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour based on experience and background.
