Kidcreate Studio is an art studio just for children. In addition to our brick and mortar locations in Dana Point and Aliso Viejo, we also hold classes and events at local elementary schools and community centers in South Orange County areas.
We are currently looking for someone to fill a part-time lead teacher role, teaching in our after-school art classes. This is a part-time position.
Schedule would be:
Mondays - Team Prep in Studio 10:00-11:30
1 after-school class per day, Monday-Thursday between approximately 1:30-4:30pm.
This schedule is 14 hours per week (plus paid training and onboarding).
We can offer additional hours on weekends in our studios for the right candidate, teaching at art parties and private events.
Whether you are a teacher, studying to be a teacher, or just great working with groups of kids and interested in art, our studio is a great job for those who enjoy variety in their work and love introducing children to the wonderful world of art!

What you'll do
Prepare for classes and projects assigned using provided curriculum with mobile teaching team. (We prepare our mobile classes on Mondays at our Aliso Viejo Studio.)
Lead local after school program classes for children ages 5-12.
Utilize your teaching talents to manage a classroom of 10-22 students.
Interact with parents and caregivers at pick up.
Pick up your classroom with provided cleaning supplies.
Maintain materials and supplies - each teacher is responsible for a Kidcreate "cart" full of mobile classroom supplies.
What is required
Must be 21 years or older
Willing to submit to a background check
Valid drivers license, auto insurance and reliable transportation
Able to lift and carry 10-20 pounds frequently, up to 50 pounds occasionally
Availability on weekday afternoons and comfortable with part-time hours
Experience working with groups of elementary aged children
Who we're looking for

Passion for working with kids
Enthusiastic, patient, and outgoing personalities
College education a plus (graduates or in progress)
Reliability
Strong interest in arts and crafts - our curriculum is easy to follow and you don't have to be a master artist. We're looking for someone who enjoys the process and helps children have fun and feel accomplished.
Comfortable working in various environments - different classrooms, outdoor areas, and lunchrooms are typical for our after school programs.
