Position: Youth Coach / Sports Instructor Company: Mindful Roots Location: Various schools within Lemon Grove School District Type: Part-Time Schedule: Up to 5 days per week (Mon–Fri)

Classes are scheduled between 3:15–5:00 PM (exact schedule TBD based on school needs and coach availability)

Each class is 1 hour long

Program Start Date: 9/1/2024 Hourly Rate: $50/hour

Job Description:

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Youth Sports Coaches to join our team and lead after-school sports classes across various sites. Coaches will run engaging skills clinics for sports such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, and flag football. Each class will focus on skill development, helping students not only enhance their abilities but also build a strong understanding of the fundamentals of the game.

Responsibilities:

Confidently manage groups of up to 20 students with minimal assistance.

Teach and demonstrate proper technique and fundamental skills for multiple sports.

Plan and lead structured 60-minute sessions, incorporating warm-ups, drills, skill-building activities, and small-sided games.

Adapt lessons and activities to accommodate different skill levels and abilities.

Maintain clear communication with Mindful Roots leadership and school staff.

Qualifications:

At least 1 year of experience working with elementary or middle school students (teaching, coaching, or similar).

A strong background in sports with the ability to teach multiple disciplines.

Reliable transportation to various school sites.

Must pass a background check and fingerprint clearance.

CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but not required).
