Lead Preparatory is looking for an energetic, compassionate, and creative After School Teacher to support scholars in Pre-K through 6th grade during the critical after-school hours. This role is perfect for someone who loves children, thrives in a fun and fast-paced environment, and understands how to be both firm and joyful while guiding young learners.
The After School Teacher will plan engaging weekly activities, provide homework support, and foster a safe, structured environment where scholars can learn, play, and grow. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that directly supports our mission to build learners today who become leaders tomorrow.
What You’ll Do
Create and implement weekly lesson plans with age-appropriate academic and enrichment activities.
Provide homework help and academic support tailored to each scholar’s developmental level.
Supervise scholars in both structured and unstructured activities (indoors and outdoors).
Promote positive social interactions, resolve minor conflicts, and model respectful behavior.
Communicate with parents and caregivers about daily experiences and any concerns.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
Collaborate with other educators and leadership team members.
Follow all safety and supervision protocols to ensure scholar well-being at all times.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: At least 1 year working with school-age children in an educational or child care setting.
Education: High school diploma desired, but not required; Associate’s or higher in Education, Child Development, or related field preferred.
Skills:
Strong classroom management and leadership abilities
Effective communicator with children, families, and staff
Positive, playful, and proactive attitude
Reliable, organized, and consistent in following routines
Certifications: CPR/First Aid (or willingness to complete prior to hire)
Other Requirements: Ability to lift 25 lbs and actively engage with children during movement-based activities.
