Position Overview

Kid City USA is seeking a dynamic and engaging After-School Teacher / Program Specialist to lead our after-school program for school-age children. This role is responsible for creating a structured, fun, and educational environment that supports academic success, creativity, and physical well-being.

The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and passionate about working with children, with the ability to design and implement a well-rounded daily program.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a daily and weekly schedule for the after-school program

Supervise and engage children in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment

Provide homework assistance and academic support to students

Plan and lead STEM-based activities, including:

Hands-on science experiments

Basic computer skills and digital learning

Robotics and engineering projects

Organize and facilitate outdoor and physical activities to promote health and teamwork

Encourage positive behavior, social development, and peer interaction

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment

Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding student progress and behavior

Ensure compliance with all Kid City USA policies and state licensing requirements

Pick up children using school van.

Qualifications

Experience working with school-age children (preferred)

Strong organizational and classroom management skills

Ability to create engaging lesson plans and activities

Basic knowledge or interest in STEM education (science, technology, engineering, math)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Must pass all required background checks

Preferred Qualifications

Background in education, child development, or a related field

Experience with robotics, coding, or STEM programs

Previous after-school or camp program experience
