Aftercare Center Director Job Announcement
Job Summary:
Old Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church seeks to hire a Director for its Aftercare Center. This individual will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the aftercare center.
Qualifications:
· CPR and First Aid Certified
· Must pass all background checks and meet local requirements
· Exceptional customer service, organizational, people and communication skills
· Prior experience working in an approved childcare or aftercare facility, preferably 2+ years or more
Responsibilities:
· Coordinate and facilitate all aftercare program activities
· Monitor the general welfare and safety of all children
· Ensure the majority of time children are in the program is spent in academic activities, supports, and enrichment opportunities, as well as team building activities
· Create an agenda for the aftercare program that includes things such as homework time, snacks, supervised recreation, physical activity, arts and crafts, etc.
· Monitor support staff-to-student ratios to ensure the safety of the children
· Prepare and communicate a plan with support staff and church leadership to ensure students get safely to the aftercare center
· Meet with support staff and church leadership regularly to discuss needs and opportunities within the aftercare program and aftercare center
· Ensure all payments/fees are collected, receipted, and deposited
· Provide supplies and snacks daily
· Order and maintain supplies
· Contact parents when necessary
· Handle disciplinary problems as they arise
· Assign job-related duties to support staff
· Ensure someone trained in CPR is onsite at all times
· Prepare, post, and manage the weekly staffing schedule to ensure all driver routes are covered and student-to-staff ratios are met
· Exercise independent judgement and decision-making authority as delegated
