Support Staff / Floater Teacher – The Learning Experience Sterling

Location: Sterling, VA Schedule: Part-Time, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–6:00 PM Pay: $19–$22 per hour (based on experience)

About The Learning Experience

The Learning Experience – Sterling is seeking a reliable and caring Support Staff / Floater Teacher to assist across multiple classrooms. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children of various ages and thrives in a supportive, team-focused preschool and childcare environment.

If you have classroom experience and want consistent afternoon hours, this is a perfect opportunity to build your skills in early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities

Provide classroom support for infant, toddler, and preschool rooms as needed.

Assist lead teachers with activities, play-based learning, and daily routines.

Help maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for all children.

Support transitions, snack time, diapering/toileting, and supervision.

Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Follow all Virginia childcare licensing and center safety guidelines.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Prior experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting.

Flexible, dependable, and comfortable supporting multiple age groups.

CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).

Must meet all Virginia state childcare requirements.
