Part-Time Afternoon Childcare Assistant Teacher

The Learning Experience - Gainesville Pay: $17–$19 per hour Schedule: Monday–Friday | 2:00pm–6:00pm

About the Position

The Learning Experience is seeking a friendly, reliable Part-Time Assistant Teacher to join our team for afternoon coverage. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants a consistent weekday schedule in a positive, team-oriented daycare and preschool environment.

You’ll support classrooms during the busy afternoon hours, helping children transition through activities, play, and end-of-day routines in a safe and engaging setting.

What You’ll Do

Assist Lead Teachers with daily classroom activities and routines

Help carry out fun, age-appropriate learning activities and projects

Support children’s social, emotional, and early learning development

Help supervise play, snacks, clean-up, and transitions

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment

Communicate professionally with families and teammates

Float between infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms as needed

Follow all health, safety, and state childcare licensing guidelines

What We’re Looking For

High school diploma or GED required

Experience working with children in a daycare, preschool, or childcare setting preferred

Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus

CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Dependable, energetic, and enjoys working with young children

Must meet all state childcare licensing requirements
