About the Role:

The Learning Tree in Wilmington, NC is looking for a warm, energetic Afternoon Floater/Teacher Assistant to join our team! In this role, you'll have the unique opportunity to connect with children ranging from older infants to 5 years old, supporting classrooms and helping little ones learn and grow every day.

Responsibilities:

Float between classrooms supporting teachers with children ages infant through 5 years old

Be assigned to different classrooms daily to assist teachers

Assist with daily activities, lesson plans, and age-appropriate learning experiences

Supervise and engage children during playtime, meals, and nap time

Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment

Build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members

Follow childcare center routines, schedules, and safety protocols

Provide attentive care and support to meet each child's individual developmental needs

Requirements:

Prior experience in early childhood education or childcare preferred

Genuine passion for working with infants and young children

Ability to work flexible afternoon hours and adapt to different classroom settings

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Must meet NC childcare licensing background check requirements

CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Patient, reliable, and nurturing demeanor
