About the Role
Paint Hive Studio is seeking a passionate and creative Afterschool Art Class Teacher to lead engaging art sessions for K-6 students. This role is designed for individuals who love art, enjoy working with children, and want to develop their teaching skills in an after-school setting.
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement a comprehensive curriculum that covers a variety of art mediums, techniques, and styles
Provide hands-on instruction and demonstrations to help students develop their artistic skills and techniques
Encourage creativity, self-expression, and critical thinking in students
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve
Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment
Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective art program
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices
General knowledge of the practices used in art instruction; ability to deal effectively with students and teachers; skill in the use of classroom and instructional materials; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, students, and staff.
Ability to teach multiple processes in art.
Ability to foster a fun and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
Knowledge of child behavior and learning patterns.
Ability to work with children and remain friendly, calm, and patient at all times.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Social Media - Collaborate with the team to create visually appealing graphics and videos that showcase our After School Art Program and other services. DO NOT PHOTOGRAPH CHILDREN'S FACES!!
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate degree or Bachelor's degree in Arts, Art Education, or a related field
Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching art to students of various ages and skill levels
Proficiency in a variety of art mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and mixed media
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Passion for art and a commitment to fostering creativity and artistic expression in students
Ability to pass a background check and TB skin test
Work Schedule and Compensation:
After-school hours (2 pm until 6 pm)
Scheduled days will vary
$32.00 to start
