    About Us:

    The Heritage Program is a vibrant, enrichment-based afterschool program rooted in cultural pride, community values, and creative learning. We serve elementary and middle school students, providing a safe, engaging space to explore arts, academics, movement, and teamwork.

    Position Overview: Afterschool Program Aide

    We’re seeking energetic and dependable Program Aides to support daily activities and ensure a positive environment for students. This role is perfect for college students, aspiring educators, or anyone passionate about youth development and cultural learning.

    As an Aide, you’ll work closely with Lead Staff to help facilitate games, crafts, academic support, and transitions. You’ll be a reliable role model, bringing consistency, creativity, and care to our afternoon programming.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Support daily enrichment activities such as outdoor games, arts & crafts, homework help, and team-building exercises

    Assist with classroom management and behavior redirection using positive reinforcement strategies

    Supervise students during snack time, group discussions, transitions, and dismissal

    Help set up and clean up materials, supplies, and shared program spaces

    Follow established routines and help maintain a safe, welcoming environment

    Communicate student needs or incidents to Lead Staff promptly

    Step in to support various program tasks as needed throughout the day

    What We’re Looking For:

    Experience working with children (babysitting, tutoring, camps, schools, church, etc.)

    Enthusiastic, dependable, and ready to jump in where needed

    A team player who listens well and takes direction with a positive attitude

    Interest in education, child development, or recreation fields

    Ability to keep up with fast-paced group activities and transitions

    Punctuality and commitment to showing up for your assigned shifts

    CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

    Bilingual and/or culturally responsive individuals strongly encouraged to apply!

    Schedule:

    Monday–Friday, 12:30 PM – 5:30 PM

    (Some flexibility or occasional weekend events may be required.)
