Job Title: Afterschool Teacher (August Start)
Classification: Part-Time
Compensation: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
This position is expected to start in the first week of August 2026.

We serve children ages 3-13 across several Boston Public and Charter Schools, emphasizing early intervention to ensure children are on track for third-grade reading proficiency and lifelong success. Position Summary:
As an Afterschool Teacher, you’ll develop and implement engaging lesson plans, ensure a safe and nurturing environment, and foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Your role is crucial in helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and submit monthly lesson plans aligned with curriculum guidelines
Ensure safety during indoor and outdoor activities
Facilitate engaging activities—arts, crafts, music, reading, science, and physical play
Support children’s developmental needs, including personal care routines
Create a stimulating classroom environment with visual aids and learning materials
Monitor and document each child's progress and any concerns
Promote confidence, self-esteem, and well-rounded growth
Communicate regularly with families and team members
Collaborate with classroom staff and volunteers
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and parent conferences
Maintain classroom cleanliness and organization
Record attendance and complete required documentation
Qualifications
High School Diploma required, Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Education & Care or a related field preferred
At least 6 months’ experience with Preschool-aged children with a Bachelor's degree or 1 year’s experience without a Bachelor's Degree.
EEC Preschool License from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. Those without will be given time to obtain certification.
Completion of all EEC Strong Start training and related requirements or willingness to comply
Knowledge of EEC regulations and QRIS standards or a willingness to study these standards.
CPR/First Aid certification (can be obtained at hire, if not already certified)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and family engagement skills
Organizational, planning, and time management abilities
Ability to build positive relationships with children and families
Note: Fluency in English is required
