    AgBiome is a revolutionary agriculture research and discovery company in Research Triangle Park, NC.  We are committed to decreasing risk and improving yield in order to feed our growing world population.  

    The Sales Executive position is an agricultural inside sales role based in RTP, NC. 

    Purpose

    The Sales Executive will focus on customer acquisition which includes farmers, agricultural retailers and distributors. This position involves calling potential customers and customer referrals as well as following up on any sales opportunity. The Sales Executive will provide prospective customers with all AgBiome Innovations' products offered, including features, benefits, and value to their business.  The successful candidate will work with customers to create solutions for their needs; therefore, the Sales Executive must be energetic, have exceptional communication skills, and be eager to close sales and increase revenue.  

    Due to the technical nature of the sale, the successful candidate must have deep knowledge and experience working in crop protection.

    The Sales Executive will play a fundamental role in achieving our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives. Little or no travel is expected. You must be comfortable making dozens of calls per day, working with influencers and channel partners, generating interest, and closing sales.

    Accountabilities:

    • Gaining new business by leveraging the entire product portfolio with a focus on crop protection.
    • Understanding customer needs and offering solutions and support.
    • Working in close collaboration with the Promotions Team, the Channel & Product Experts, and the Technical Experts in closing sales opportunities.
    • Developing business relationships with growers, influencers, distributors and retail accounts.
    • Making multiple outbound calls to potential customers.
    • Presenting and delivering information to potential customers.
    • Answering potential customer questions and follow-up call questions.
    • Maintaining database (Hubspot, Salesforce, CRM, Excel, etc.) of prospective customer information.
    • Closing sales and working with customers.

    Skills, Experience, Behaviors

    • Bachelor of Science in agronomy or agriculture-related field.
    • 5+ years commercial agricultural industry experience in sales, marketing, or business development.
    • Skills in strategic thinking, problem identification, solution development, and execution.
    • Ability to influence and work effectively in a highly collaborative, non-directive, work environment.
    • Comfortable making calls and talking to new people all day.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect and interact with potential customers.
    • Persuasive and goal-oriented.
    • Energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor.
    • Eager to expand company with new sales, customers, and territories.
    • Tenacity to handle rejection and continue on with a positive attitude when reaching the next potential customer.
    • Knowledge of sales process from initiation to close.
    • Strong computer skills, including GSuite and Hubspot/Salesforce.
    • Proficient with corporate productivity and web presentation tools.
    • Strong listening and presentation skills.
    • Ability to prioritize, and manage time effectively.
