VDI - Desktop Support Engineer/Client Engineer
Job Description
THE IMPORTANT PARTS:
JOB DUTIES:
• Design, coordinate, and participate in the engineering, implementation, and management of virtual desktop infrastructure technologies and platforms supporting complex corporate infrastructure
• Provide domain level technical guidance and recommendations for designing, building, testing, deploying, and maintaining highly available, scalable, and secure VDI applications and architectures
• Maintain, monitor, and support the infrastructure environment directly and proactively
• Resolve issues and drive root cause analysis and provide regular updates and timely communications
• Document the design, operation, and troubleshooting of technology platforms and procedures
• Maintain the necessary project plans and documentation of all system builds and modifications
• Deploy application and systems into complex hybrid environments, while engaging automation and repeatable processes where applicable
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
5 years' of demonstrated strong VMWare Horizon VDI background experience
• 3-5 years' of demonstrated strong VMWare Horizon VDI background experience
• Experience managing enterprise-wide VMWare Horizon VDI/Desktop Presentation environments
• Experience managing Citrix Xen Desktop/VDI environments
• Experience deploying a secure and hardened VMWare and Citrix architecture
• Experience managing complex VMware virtualized environments
• Experience managing and supporting hardware for VDI deployments
• Experience managing enterprise Microsoft server environments
• Experience deploying and maintaining services in Microsoft Azure
• 3-5 years' previous experience providing system and platform integration for virtual desktop infrastructure in a hybrid cloud environment
• Strong demonstrated experience with design, implementation, operating, and troubleshooting of a complex VDI environment
• Experience with enterprise server and datacenter technologies
• Knowledge of IT Infrastructure, including Security and Virtualization
• Experience with requirements gathering, design, and establishing comprehensive DR methodologies and technologies supporting an enterprise-wide DC environment
