We invent new improvements every day.  Job Overview – Seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineers to work on system design, implementation and release to manufacturing. This candidate will support the Electrical Engineering and Sensor Team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system design, complex analog and digital circuit design, possess good communication skills, and have the ability to own a large component of a system. Additionally, the candidate should have past experience and a strong interest in designing, evaluating and testing sensors (e.g. LiDAR, Stereo Camera, Time-of-Flight, mmWave radar, and other new sensing technologies). This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in team settings. This position reports directly to the Electrical Engineering & Sensor Team Manager.

    This position will work onsite in our Boston or Seattle Robotic Drone creation Laboratory. We offer 2 days a week work from home. We are looking for professionals that has 5-15 years of working or equivalent scholar experience or  to fill the Level 5 positions and 15+ years of working or equivalent scholar experience for the Level 6 positions. The total compensation for these positions will be more than competitive. 

    Some of the key job functions of the Electrical Engineer include: · Working with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including design, prototyping, validation, testing and certification. · Conduct experiments, data collection, perform system and sub-system level testing. · Owning a large component of a subsystem from concept to fielding. · Coordinate with all other cross-functions to ensure project success. · Possess a thorough understanding of technical principles and concepts in Electrical Engineering. · Past experience with and an extreme interest in sensor development, evaluation and test. · Writing and developing functional specifications, design verification plans and test procedures. · Architecting, designing and implementing complex embedded system, analog and digital circuit design and systems debugging. · Supporting product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments. · Execute tasks to aggressive schedules and ability to multi-task. · Establish development processes to meet industry standards for functionally safe control systems (IEC 61508).

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    The candidate must have the following qualifications:

    • BS / MS Electrical Engineering (or similar field).
    • 7+ years of experience in electrical and system level design.
    • Strong interest in sensors and sensing technologies.
    • Experience working with 3rd party partners, prototyping & evaluating solutions, and developing products.
    • Shows extreme ownership for assigned projects and tasks, and is able to work autonomously to deliver results.
    • Has strong Bias for Action and is able to work autonomously with little supervision.
    • Expert in schematic entry, layout tools and design for manufacturability (familiarity with OrCAD Capture and Cadence Allegro tool flow is a plus).
    • Experience designing high volume printed circuit boards with design-for-cost targets.
    • Experience designing boards with image sensors.
    • Experience designing complex schematics containing analog and digital electronics including boards with FPGA's, microcontrollers or microprocessors.
    • Experience with mixed signal designs.
    • Experience with serial communication interfaces (CAN, SPI, Ethernet, USB, etc.).
    • Proficient with PSPICE for analog circuit simulation.
    • Experience executing design reviews in front of interdisciplinary teams.
    • Familiar with PCB layout design and best practices.
    • Comfortable debugging existing designs.
    • Demonstrated strong ability to move seamlessly between levels of abstraction – from system to the “nuts and bolts” implementation.
    • Extensive system design interfacing to a wide array of electro-mechanical subsystems and debugging experience.
    • Commitment to rigorous testing practices and design process flows.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    •Experience designing and testing sensors including, but not limited to, stereo cameras, monocular cameras, Time-of-flight sensors, mmWave radar modules, etc. is a plus. •Experience specifying optics is a plus. •Ability to write scripts in Python to support data capture and analysis is highly desirable. •Experience applying IEC 60204 and/or IEC 61508 machinery safety standards preferred. •Experience designing, developing and certifying safety rated hardware systems is desirable. •Experience troubleshooting and resolving EMI/EMC issues.
