NOTES FROM HIRING MANAGER:

• This is a remote position that must be able and willing to support full-time west coast hours.
• Approval for end of calendar year but likely will be extended.
• Looking for a UX/UI Designer - Human Factor Engineer.
• Knowledge of: Sketch, InVision, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and XD.
• Familiar with HTML, CSS.
• Experience with typography, colour, space, layout, and visual design for branding/commerce environments.
• Ability to capture design flows, wireframes, testable prototypes and fully fleshed out designs.
• Ability to define and share UX design patterns and standards with business partners.
• Have knowledge of accessibility standards and how to design for ADA Compliant websites.
• Experience working with SCRUM in an Agile environment

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• With minimal supervision, develop user interface designs of web, tablet, mobile, and desktop user applications.
• Lead and improve the process of defining user interface application design and behavior.
• Collaborate with software engineers and product managers to produce best in class applications.

TYPICALLY HAS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS OR ABILITIES:

• Bachelor's degree in design, human computer interaction (HCI)
• 8 years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, user experience engineer or similar role.
• Expert understanding of methods for designing easy to use interfaces in a variety of web-based, mobile and desktop formats
• Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Balsamiq, Visio, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, Flash/Flex and Adobe Creative Suit
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in the use of personal computers and PC applications
• Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Design simple, easy-to-use interfaces for B2B and B2C applications with rich and complex features
• Plan and conduct user requirements gathering, feature analysis, competitive research, conceptual modeling and usability testing
• Design and specify user interfaces and using iterative design techniques including interviews, usability testing, prototyping and story boarding
• Document user interface designs with wireframes, user interaction diagrams, low fidelity prototypes and high fidelity mock-ups
• Effectively communicate designs, design concepts and design rationale both verbally and visually
• Contribute and collaborate on cross functional teams that include product management, engineering and marketing
