    AGRICULTURE CAPITAL (“AC”) is a regenerative agriculture and food investment firm that currently manages two investment funds (“the Funds”). With $800 million under management, the Funds invest in permanent cropland and synergistic midstream assets to create a vertically integrated enterprise that grows, packs and markets high-value produce. Through an owner-operator model, the Funds employ a value-added approach to farm and food operations, focused on regenerative farm practices and the processing and sale of that produce as a means of enhancing returns. Our mission is to develop a regenerative food and agriculture system that produces better food at scale and delivers healthy returns to our investors while making a difference in our communities.

    JOB SUMMARY

    Agriculture Capital is seeking an exceptional Category Strategy Associate to support the strategy and business development activities of the organization. In this role, the Category Strategy Associate will be responsible for developing global crop strategies, leading long-term business planning, and coordinating market implementation across the AC and asset management organizations.  As an individual and team contributor, this position will conduct research, develop strategy, lead projects, develop industry relationships, support investment activities, and draft reports on select permanent crop markets, including the growing, packing, sales and marketing segments of the supply chain.  The Category Strategy Associate reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Agriculture Capital. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Global Insights:
      • Know everything about Industry supply and demand, across the value chain, globally

      • Know everything about consumer and customer trends, globally

    • Spearhead critical strategic, business planning, business development and innovation initiatives
    • Build value across crop category verticals to meet financial and stewardship objectives
    • Communicate effectively about strategy, opportunities, investments, projects and insights with stakeholders internally, across industry, operating companies, and with investors

    Time Allocation:  Research and Analysis 45%, Strategic Market Development 20%, Program and Crop Insight 15%, Sourcing/Supporting Acquisitions and Investments 20%

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

    • 3-5 years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or other functions with strong research, strategy and analytical focus
    • Industry experience with relevant produce or agriculture categories a strong plus
    • Undergraduate degree in relevant business or agricultural field, MBA preferred
    • Demonstrated leadership ability including effective team management, project management and ability to collaborate across internal and external partners
    • Superior problem solving and analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative)
    • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
    • Self-motivated individual with strong drive for results and ability to achieve high impact in an unstructured environment
    • Demonstrated passion for making a difference
    • Full U.S. work authorization
