    Ahana is the self-service analytics startup for Presto, the fastest growing open source SQL project today. Backed by Google Ventures and Lux Capital, Ahana offers its customers the first cloud-native managed service for Presto which simplifies the deployment, management and integration of Presto. The cloud data analytics market is expected to grow from $10B to $100B in the next 10 years. Ahana Cloud for Presto simplifies and unifies data analytics on disparate data sources such as databases and data lakes on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The founders are experts in Presto, databases, cloud, and open source GTM, hailing from Uber, Teradata, Splunk, Couchbase, Alibaba, IBM, and Aviatrix. We are an all-remote company with a female co-founder leading the product team.

    JOB DESCRIPTION 

    Ahana is looking for a DevOps Release Manager to provide end-to-end delivery of release and deployment management for Ahana.  The role requires strong technical skills in deploying technologies and will require good problem-solving skills to resolve issues that arise in deployment.

    In this role your duties will be:

    • Communicate with the business and senior management on the risks and issues of major changes / releases
    • Proactively communicate and negotiate with teams in order to resolve priority conflicts
    • Deliver the Change Management, Release and Deployment Management processes
    • Support the review, validation, prioritization, updating and scheduling of all change/ release requests
    • Contribute to the development and publishing of the IT release policy and plans
    • Contribute to the review of high impact and emergency changes
    • Contribute to defining and maintaining the standard change windows for all changes and monitoring any change freezes (as required)
    • Conduct reviews on changes that have been implemented to verify that all steps were completed, and the objective of the change was achieved
    • Liaise with the relevant parties involved with an approved change to ensure activities are coordinated and carried out accordingly to plan.
    • Manage automated releases to QA, staging and production environments

    Qualifications and experience required:

    • Previous experience implementing an AWS Framework
    • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), senior stakeholder management skills and ability to present qualitative information clearly
    • Knowledge of Scrum, Agile, Kanban and DevOps-based delivery
    • Daily experience of JIRA and confluence and automated testing and release management tools is preferred.
    • Ability to script installation, configuration and provisioning of Docker images in an EKS environment
    • Experience with continuous integration and build management tools such as Jenkins, CircleCI, Hudson, Maven, Travis
    • Strong understanding of AWS infrastructural technologies such as Cloudformation, S3, EKS, etc.
    • Experience using configuration management automation tools such as Terraform
    • Experience with a multi-platform, multi-release environment
    • Experience in designing and managing constant iterations and introducing processes
