    About the Role:

    CKC is looking for a compassionate and dependable Aide / Van Monitor to join our team in Waterbury, CT! This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve while working in a supportive and caring environment.

    Responsibilities:

    Supervise and monitor passengers during van transportation to ensure safety and comfort

    Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including those with mobility challenges

    Communicate effectively with drivers and staff regarding passenger needs or concerns

    Maintain a safe, calm, and positive environment throughout transport

    Document and report any incidents, behavioral concerns, or health-related observations

    Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and organizational guidelines

    Provide basic assistance and support to passengers as needed during transit

    Requirements:

    Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, special needs, or elderly populations preferred

    Strong communication and interpersonal skills

    Ability to remain calm, patient, and attentive in a fast-paced environment

    Reliable, punctual, and dependable with a strong work ethic

    CPR/First Aid certification is a plus

    Must be able to pass a background check

    High school diploma or GED preferred

    Ability to bend, lean, and reach to properly secure students into 5-point harnesses inside cars and mini-vans multiple times per route.

    Must be meticulous about safety protocols, especially when fastening and checking 5-point harnesses.
