Do you love working with creative kids? Are you ready to go to the playground and supervise playdates or help create a giant magnatile skyscraper or just sit and read stories? Are you interested in position with some flexibility? We are looking for an afterschool sitter for two or three afternoons a week in the South Slope/Windsor Terrace area of Brooklyn. Candidates must be available Wednesday afternoons, but there is some flexibility for the second or third afternoon, with M/W as the ideal, and the possibility of Thursday and or Friday pick-up weekly or as needed. Regular hours are 2:40PM - 5:30/5:45PM. We would love to find someone with some interest in night and weekend hours as needed, though it would not likely be frequent. Duties will include picking up our kindergartener from school, taking our kiddo to the park and hopefully helping with play dates, giving him snacks as needed, and possibly starting dinner prep. We are looking for someone who is reliable, engaging and high energy, who can have fun and play. It would be a plus if the person is able to occasionally cover weekend and evening hours, but this is not a requirement. Our toddler will not usually be home during this time, but an ideal candidate will have experience with multiple children at a time and would feel comfortable watching both of the if needed. We would like someone who can commit to us at least until the February break. Pay is $20 - $22/hour, plus reimbursement for MTA travel for the extra school pickup trip each day, if you do not already have a monthly card. School pickup is located just off the F/G at Ft Hamilton Parkway in Brooklyn, and our home is in South Park Slope near the F/G and multiple bus lines. We look forward to hearing from you!
